Did you miss Discover? Visit our Advising Center!
Students who missed the opportunity to attend Discover should visit the Advising Center and meet with a New Student Advisor to continue the fall enrollment process. Students should visit the Advising Center prior to registration so that they can develop an academic plan for their first semester and are ready to register the first day it opens.
Open registration begins June 27th!
Discover is Virginia Western Community College's orientation for new students and their supporters. At Discover, you will register early for fall classes; become familiar with campus resources; meet faculty, staff, and other incoming students; and much more!
Keep in mind that the Discover program is popular since it allows students the opportunity to register early for Fall 2016 classes, get familiar with campus, and have questions answered before classes begin. The Discover program is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please reserve your Discover seat early to ensure that you have this opportunity!
Before attending Discover, you must:
- Apply to Virginia Western. Skip this step if you took dual enrollment courses through Virginia Western in high school.
- Complete your placement tests at the Testing Center in Brown Library at Virginia Western.
- Register for Discover! You will need to use your MyVWCC userid and password.
If you do not know your Userid and password, Look up your username and set your password.
Please note: Students who will be enrolled in high school or home school for the 2016-2017 school year should NOT attend Discover; it is for new curricular students only. If you have questions about dual enrollment, please contact your high school guidance counselor.
