Dual Enrollment

Virginia Placement Testing

Beginning with Summer 2014 courses, Dual-enrollment students will be required to complete ALL parts of the VPT or meet the criteria posted for alternative assessment. Students may combine assessments. Students who would like to use one of the alternative assessments, must have their high school guidance department submit a copy of the score report to the dual enrollment coordinator.

Students who were enrolled in Virginia Western courses prior to Summer 2014, will follow the Admission Criteria that was in place at the time of their registration.

The charts below show the admission criteria that students must meet to enroll in courses. Some courses may have additional pre- or co-requisites. Please refer to the 2014-15 Dual Enrollment Placement and Prerequisite Guide posted below (PDF) to determine if additional testing is required.
