Please direct all inquiries regarding class scheduling, student registration for dual classes, students who wish to drop/add a class or who wish to withdraw from a class, questions or problems related to your class or to students to Mr. Salyers at email@example.com or 857-7235.
Once an instructor has been fully credentialed to teach dual enrolled classes, Dr. Beard will mail the instructor a copy of the SARF (Security Access Request Form). This form contains a number of areas highlighted in yellow. The instructor should complete all of the areas that are highlighted and return the form as soon as possible to Mr. Salyers in the postage-paid, self-addressed envelope he will provide.
Once he receives the form, it is sent to the college's Information and Educational Technologies department which must activate each instructor's access. Completion and submission of a new SARF is an annual requirement of the Virginia Community College System.
Without an annual SARF, an instructor's account will be disabled by the College which will prevent the instructor from checking class rosters or entering grades for his/her dual students.
A listing of security tips for using the College's student information system is also included with the SARF. Instructors should read this sheet of tips and follow them whenever possible.
Once a teacher has been credentialed as an adjunct faculty member for Virginia Western Community College and has completed and returned the SARF form, he/she is issued an EMPLID number. This identification number is seven numerical digits which allow an instructor to interact with the College's student information system, My VWCC.
Without an EMP ID number, instructors cannot access the system to check their class roster of students who are registered to their dual classes, nor can they enter final grades into the system for their dual students at the end of each semester.
Instructions for looking up your EMPLID and username and setting up your password can be found in The My VWCC Survival Guide.
Should you have difficulty accessing your account, please contact the College's Help Desk at 857-7354 or email your problem to firstname.lastname@example.org. Students are also issued EMPLID numbers, and their identification numbers are used to register them for their dual classes.
We use VW Alert to immediately contact you during a major crisis or emergency.
