Health Science Program

Program Specifics

  • Foundational program
  • Earn college credits
  • Prepares students for entry into one of the Health Profession programs at VWCC
  • Cohort is limited to 24 students
  • Designed for students that have demonstrated strong Math and Science skills in their high school program
  • Students must have successfully completed high school biology prior to enrollment, receiving a B or higher

Eligibility Requirements

  • Complete, in its entirety, the required application and documentation by the deadline
  • Obtain a recommendation letter from a current math or science teacher
  • Attach high school transcripts
  • Attend the New Student Orientation
  • Demonstrate strong competencies in biology and math
  • Have met the prerequisite for BIO 141, taken Biology as dual enrollment, have AP Biology exam score of 3 or better, or high school Biology within the past 5 years
  • Virginia Placement Test ENG 111 Placement Score
  • Virginia Placement Test MTE 1-5 Placement Score
