Full-Time Fridays

Virginia Western Community College's Full-Time Fridays program allows students to earn a degree while balancing priorities to their work, families and life in general.  Full-Time Fridays gives those students the opportunity to earn an Associate of Science Degree in General Studies in just two years while taking in-class courses on Fridays only, coupled with distance (online) learning.

Why consider Full-Time Fridays?

Full-Time Fridays can help you:

  • Manage a career, your job and an education
  • Finish your degree in two years with classes on Fridays only
  • Keep your nights and weekends free to devote to other obligations

Full-Time Fridays is your path to a college degree!

What is the Full-Time Fridays course load?

Most students can take all their on-campus courses from 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM on Fridays. The typical course load of 60 credit hours for a student in Full-Time Fridays is spread over Spring and Fall semesters for two years. Summer classes are optional. Full-Time Fridays students complete a set of required and elective courses like any other Virginia Western student, and tuition costs are identical.

What opportunities are there for working students?

Many employers in the region encourage and support their employees' professional development. Check with your human resources department and your supervisor to discuss alternate work schedules and potential funding that may be available for professional development. Your degree will help your company reach its goals and advance your career.
